What is the REACH Program?

The REACH Program at the College of Charleston is a four-year, fully inclusive certificate program for students with mild intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The program promotes the advancement of knowledge and skills in the areas of academics, socialization, independent living and career development. The College of Charleston’s program has been nationally recognized for its commitment to full inclusion and self-determination.

WHAT DOES THE REACH PROGRAM OFFER?

Students in the REACH Program can participate in all activities offered by the College of Charleston, with focused support for success. Students:

  • attend traditional classes, with modifications and support
  • live in traditional residence hall
  • have access to peer mentors
  • complete internships
  • participate in campus clubs, activities and organizations
