Los Angeles welcomed BMW in honoring four women who #Payit4ward, co-hosted by MADE Magazine.
On a sunny afternoon, after people had the opportunity to test drive classy BMW’s, we shared mimosas and got to know the women being honored. The four women have made an impact in the business world and their communities:
Kalika Yap is a Santa Monica-based entrepreneur, founder of Citrus Studios, Luxe Link (brilliant, right?), the Tangerine Co., the Lemonade Stand, and The Waxing Company. Yap is a trustee of the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, California, and member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization.
Helen Torres is Executive Director of Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE), her supervision and management have helped HOPE grow into one of the leading women’s leadership and advocacy organizations in California and the U.S.
Paulina Lopez-Velazquez and her sister launched “Super Mamas Podcast” as a space where mothers can exchange knowledge and create a support system. Lopez-Velazquez is co-producer of the Super Mamas Social festival, and a member of the Board of Directors of City Charter Schools.
Carmelita Jeter is an American sprinter with three Olympic medals and a world record. She is dedicated to her family and community and serves as a spokesperson for Breast Cancer, Health & Fitness, and Youth Education Initiatives. Her journey in the arena of cancer has personal roots.
