About Us

ABILITY Magazine over 30 years of award winning journalism

ABILITY Magazine is an award winning publication and is consistently ranked in the Top 50 Magazines in the World. For over 30 years, our mission has been to provide new insights into our individual levels of ability.

ABILITY Magazine strives to change public perception of what it means to have a disability by focusing on ability, shattering myths and stereotypes that surround disabilities, and bringing greater attention to the issues—showing that disability is part of the fabric of all our lives and shining a light on unconscious bias. ABILITY Magazine covers the latest on health, environmental protection, assistive technology, employment, sports, the arts, travel, universal design, mental wellness—and much more.

ABILITY Magazine provides a positive cross-cultural experience showcasing the diversity and accomplishments of the global community of persons with disabilities. It demonstrates its support for the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) by co-hosting international panels with leaders in their fields.

ABILITY Magazine champions the Americans with Disabilities Act and actively seeks advancement opportunities for people with disabilities; it built the first job board connecting employers and job seekers with disabilities. Since 1995, abilityJOBS.com has been the leading career website dedicated to employment of PWDs, with over 5,000 companies and hundreds of thousands of job seekers.

ABILITY Magazine is the founding sponsor of ABILITY Corps a non-profit whose purpose is to create a world of inclusion and awareness for PWDs—through art, media, housing, and volunteer opportunities. Its employment platforms include the first accessible video online career fair for job seekers with disabilities: ABILITY Job Fair, and abilityEntertainment connecting actors with disabilities to the entertainment industry.

ABILITY Magazine is dedicated to promoting accessibility in both content and form. One of it's several awards cam from being the first print magazine to embed VOICEYE (a high-density matrix barcode system) on its editorial pages to enable its readers to hear print and in 58 languages—giving greater access to people with low vision, blindness, or reading challenges.

From diabetes to spinal cord injury to celebrity interviews to CEO profiles, ABILITY Magazine covers the latest on health, environmental protection, assistive technology, employment, sports, travel, universal design, mental health, and much more.
