Recently, I have been catching up on some much needed rest from my travels. I have been going through all of my emails for class requests and setting up a new schedule for my AFMX schools. Actually, right now as I write this, I am headed out to Washington for an MX school. It will be the biggest AFMX school ever in the US! I’m super excited to able to teach such a large class and to ride with them also. I love Washington so it will be a great time to hang out there for a couple of days and ride too, it’s so beautiful there! My friend Ashley is going with me to help interpret. I’m sure we will have a fun trip; it’s always fun to scout out some new restaurants too!
During part of my travels I took a mini vacation and went to Las Vegas with some friends and then on to Phoenix. I was in Vegas for the fourth of July and we had a great time! One of my friends got us all into a VIP pool party, I looked up by the bar and Kevin Hart was dancing around… haha. He had so many bodyguards around him it was insane!
There are plenty of good restaurants in Vegas; I had the best oysters there! After that, my friend Lindsey and I drove to Phoenix, she had to attend a NAD (National Association of the Deaf) conference for her work so I tagged along with her. I had a really good time because I met a lot of new people and made some new friends. When I was there I finally felt like there was no communication barrier at all because there was literally over three thousand deaf people there for the event! It was a great memory for me and I am really glad that I was able to attend. People have invited me to go to NAD event’s before but I was always too busy or not in the country. I am glad it worked out this time.
When I got back home I decided it was time for me to buy a mountain bike to get some training in. I got a GT bike and rode it for the first time yesterday. Let’s just say the uphill climb kicked my butt but the downhill was a blast, wow I didn’t think it would be so much fun. I’m itching to get back out there and try it all again but it will have to wait until I get back from Washington! Wish me luck….
